Registration Begins for Ameed Int’l Quran Award in Karbala

IQNA – The Astan (custodianship) of Hazrat Abbas (AS) holy shrine in Karbala has opened the registration for an international TV Quran contest.

Named “Ameed International Holy Quran Award”, the competition, in its first stage will feature recorded recitations of Quran by qaris from all over the world.

After the evaluation of the recitations, those with the best performances will be invited to Karbala to compete in the main round.

Registration was launched on Saturday, February 3, and will run through Friday, February 16.

Those willing to take part in the competition are required to send a recorded video of their recitation of verses from the Quran.

They can choose any verses from the Holy Book but their recitation should not exceed 3 minutes in length. Also, the video file submitted should not be bigger than 150 megabytes.

Along with the file, the contenders should send information such as their first and family names, age, and country, as well as a copy of their passport and a photo.
